MEFMI marks three decades of sustainable capacity building in macroeconomic, financial and sovereign debt management for its 14 member countries across Eastern and Southern Africa.
The Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI) marks 30 years of capacity building under the banner "Celebrating 3 Decades of Capacity Building." Since its establishment in 1994, the Institute has built sustainable human and institutional capacity in central banks, ministries of finance and of planning across its member countries.
Over three decades, MEFMI has delivered thousands of workshops, technical assistance missions, senior policy seminars and e-learning courses, and has developed a critical mass of regional expertise through its Fellows Development Programme. The anniversary is an occasion to reflect on the Institute's contribution to macroeconomic stability, sound financial sector management and prudent sovereign debt management in Eastern and Southern Africa, and to recommit to serving the region's member states.
