The Financial Sector Management Programme provides capacity-building services that cover a wide spectrum of areas for officials in central banks, ministries of finance and economic planning and development across the MEFMI region. Its work supports financial sector stability, deeper and better-functioning financial markets, and the prudent management of sovereign assets.
Areas of focus
The programme is organised under the following broad topics:
- Financial markets development and operations
- Sovereign asset management and integrated sovereign asset and liability management
- Financial sector regulation, supervision and surveillance
- Non-bank financial institution regulation
Capacity is delivered through regional and in-country workshops, senior policy seminars, e-learning courses such as the regulation of securities markets and fundamentals of financial markets, and technical assistance. The programme also covers reserves management and enterprise risk management for the region's monetary authorities.
