The Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI) is a regionally owned institute that builds sustainable capacity in macroeconomic, financial and sovereign debt management for its member states. Established in 1994, the Institute serves central banks, ministries of finance and of planning across Eastern and Southern Africa.
What we do
MEFMI strengthens human and institutional capacity in its client institutions, fosters the adoption of international good practice, and raises awareness of emerging risks and opportunities among senior policymakers. Its work is organised into four programme clusters and underpinned by the Fellows Development Programme, which creates a critical mass of regional expertise.
