This regional workshop addresses liability management operations as a tool for managing domestic debt portfolios. It equips debt managers with techniques such as buybacks, exchanges and switches that can be used to smooth maturity profiles, reduce refinancing and interest rate risk, and support the development of liquid benchmark securities.
The workshop supports MEFMI member countries in deepening their domestic debt markets and strengthening the middle and back office functions of their debt management offices in line with international good practice.
