An in-country workshop in Arusha assisting Tanzania to formulate a Medium-Term Debt Management Strategy and Annual Borrowing Plan, held 23 October to 3 November 2023.
MEFMI assisted the Ministry of Finance of Tanzania to formulate a Medium-Term Debt Management Strategy (MTDS) and an Annual Borrowing Plan (ABP) at an in-country workshop held from 23 October to 3 November 2023 in Arusha, Tanzania.
Using the IMF/World Bank MTDS and ABP Analytical Tools, the workshop covered the eight steps to formulate a debt strategy, public debt data preparation, stylised debt instruments and the projection of market variables. Participants drafted a preliminary MTDS for 2023/24–2025/26 and an ABP for 2023/24, facilitated by MEFMI Accredited and Graduate Fellows.
